Parship is a large European online matchmaking service. It takes a more scientific approach to finding you a partner, and also offers standard online dating features. It is aimed at those seeking a serious long-term relationship.
When you join Parship you will complete a psychometric test which was designed by psychologist Professor Hugo Schmale. It examines 30 aspects of your personality in order to match you with a list of scientifically selected compatible individuals, thereby optimising your chances of success meeting the perfect partner for you. Matches are expressed as a percentage match to you to you can work you way down through the the list.
We like that this is clearly a site for people with one aim in mind - to find someone special, so if this is your objective then there's safety in knowing members are not married men looking for a a bit of ego-boosting or a bit on the side, or women looking for just friendship or a casual fling.
Parship place your privacy and security at a premium and are, above all, discrete. Member profiles are a number not a name and emails are exchanged through Parship's own system so your email address will not be given out.
Basic membership allows you to take the compatibility test and set up a profile for free. You will be able to see the profiles of your matches, and they will be able to see yours. You can also send and receive 'contact requests'. In short there's nothing to lose if you want to sign up and see what (or who) is on offer. To reply to a contact request you need to upgrade to the Premium service (see prices below).
Once you upgrade you will be able to add additional photos to your profile;e, contact other members and get a full PDF analysis report based on your initial questionnaire. Perhaps more importantly you will be able to view your matches' photos which only appear as a blur to basic members. This works both for and against you - although it will cost you to sign up and see photos on profiles, at least you'll be sure that members wishing to view your profile are serious enough to want to pay...
Similar to the major online dating companies, if you sign up initially for a 6 month Premium membership, and then fail to achieve contact with 5 or more members during that period, you can request another 6 months for free. Check their T&Cs on the 'contact guarantee' for more details.
Compared with the industry standard prices for online dating membership, Parship is pretty expensive. This is justified by the scientific matching system. It is definitely worth investing in if a serious relationship is what you are after, and you don't wish to join a lot of different sites.
Prices: Basic membership and the compatibility test are FREE. Premium membership will cost you £35 for 1 month, £57 for 3 months and £84 for 6 months.
